Your information
I will never share any of your personal/identifiable information with anyone. The information may be stored outside the EU.
Basic tracking (see “cookies and tracking” below) used by virtually every professional website happens automatically and possibly gathers technically identifiable data (e.g., IP address).
The companies that may store data related to you due to your interaction with my website and other marketing include: Google (website analytics), Stripe (information related to credit card payments), PayPal (information related to PayPal payments), Infusionsoft (information you type into forms and website analytics after a form submission), Facebook (website analytics and advertising data), Twitter (website analytics and advertising data), Linkedin (website analytics and advertising data), VWO (website analytics used for testing), HotJar (website analytics and information you type into a chat box), Wistia (video-related data), and ClickFunnels (website analytics and information you type into forms). Note that credit card companies have their own data collection policies. Payments made through PayPal are subject to the PayPal Statement of Privacy Practices. Payments made through Stripe (credit card payments on my site) are subject to Stripe’s policies.
Note about credit card information: I don’t have access to your credit card information, even if you buy something from me; that’s just not how PayPal or Stripe works. However, PayPal and Stripe do store your credit card information to enable their functionality (e.g., recurring payments).
If you want all the tracking information related to you deleted, contact me.
Cookies and tracking
Just like practically every other serious website in the world, I use “cookies” and scripts to track how my website is used and to enable some functionality. Simply put, the cookies and scripts allow me to know how many people visit my site, what they do on it, and other similar data. They can also be used for remarketing (showing advertising for people based on what they’ve done on my website). You can block cookies and scripts in your browser, but it will break some functionality on this site.
Subscribing/unsubscribing
When you subscribe to my email list (“The Insider’s List”), you will receive my emails. You will join The Insider’s List when you fill a form to get one of my freebies (e.g., “Find the core of your value proposition exercise”) or when you register for a webinar.
You can unsubscribe with a click of a link, which is at the end of every automated email you get from me.
Confidentiality
If you hire me, all the information I learn of you or your business is confidential. The only thing I can mention to someone else or publicly is that I have worked with you and/or your company. That is to say, anything I learn of you or your business is not going to get shared forward, regardless of how significant or insignificant it is. The only difference to a doctor’s confidentiality is that I can mention having worked with you (but I wouldn’t share anything beyond that). Of course, if I’m legally required to share something with relevant authorities, I will.
Services and Products
Coaching calls
All coaching calls are done via Zoom between 11am and 9pm Finnish time (~7 hours ahead of US Eastern and ~2 hours ahead of UK), unless otherwise agreed in advance. That said, I’m flexible about it if there’s a big difference in our time zones. I’ve had plenty of clients from Singapore, Australia, and New Zealand, for example, so don’t worry about times—we’ll make it work.
What if you can’t make it to a call?
With single coaching calls, let me know about your need to reschedule at least 48 hours before the call, and we’ll reschedule it for a later date. Of course, if something truly unexpected happens (e.g., you get sick) right before the call, we’ll reschedule it for a later date.
During regular coaching, unused calls (whether it’s because of sickness, mistakes, vacations, etc.) are usually simply skipped. We will likely go over the allocated time quite often, so the skipped calls even it out a bit.
What if I (Peter) can’t make it to a call?
If I’m going on vacation, I’ll let you know about it as early as I reasonably can, and we’ll reschedule the calls.
If something more unexpected happens (e.g., I’m sick), we’ll reschedule the call.
General service terms
All service contracts expire if the client doesn’t move the project along and stay in contact with me for 3 months in a row. No refunds are issued in such cases. Note that none of my services include active follow-up from my part. In other words, if it’s your turn to do some work, it’s up to you to do it (I won’t remind you about it). Continuous services (e.g., monthly coaching) don’t end until you stop paying for the service, whether you use it or not.
The Conversion Optimization Report will be delivered within 10 business days after I’ve received all necessary information from you.
When you buy a digital product, it will be delivered to you immediately (unless stated otherwise). However, if you don’t receive the email with access to the product, send me an email, so I can send the access details to you manually; technical glitches in product delivery aren’t all that uncommon.
Deliverables
Creating your value proposition / marketing message / Core Value Message
The outcome of the service is a list of three ideas/points/beliefs I see as most likely to make the target customers want to know more about what you sell (or even buy straight away). They’re intended to be the things you communicate with your marketing initially to immediately get people to understand the value they could get and want it, so they take the next step toward buying. The building blocks of the message can be seen as their own deliverables (clear target customer, most desirable benefits, and most meaningful differentiators), and they’re certainly very useful, but those are not technically the service’s deliverables.
Planning your sales funnel / marketing and sales system / Conversion Path
I will plan what marketing and sales tactics are used, in what order, and how, and how they fit together. You get instructions for the contents of each tactic. I will also answer any questions related to the contents. If you have questions related to technology, I can help to some degree, but I may not be familiar with the tools you use—and for example, software companies’ customer support is usually the better place to look for tech help.
Revisions
In all services where I deliver something to you, you’re free to ask for revisions (unless otherwise specified). There is always a limit of 5 rounds of revisions. This limit is only here to protect me against unreasonable requests, so it’s possible I’ll do more revisions.
Guarantees
Below are the guarantee terms for currently actively promoted products and services. For other products and services, check the individual product’s or service’s sales page or contact me for details.
“100% – $xxx money-back guarantee:” It means you can get 100% minus $xxx back. For example, if the payment is $1000 and the guarantee is “100% minus $300,” then you could get $700 back.
“1000% ROI” guarantees always refer to the price of the product you’re buying. That is, if you buy a $1,000 product, 1000% ROI means $10,000 in additional revenue (within a timeframe if one is stated) thanks to what you learn from and implement based on what you bought. Unless otherwise specified, you won’t need to prove the lack of ROI to qualify for the guarantee. Just let me know within the time limit what you’ve done with the product and that your ROI hasn’t been at least 1000%. Note that often these guarantees also include a general “or if you are otherwise unhappy” clause, in which case you only need to tell me what would’ve needed to be different for you to be happy with what you bought. I ask that, so I can improve my offers (I think “no questions asked” guarantees means “don’t care to improve”), but there’s no requirement for what kind of an answer you need to give.
6-Figure Website: There are two guarantees. There is a 90-day 100% money-back guarantee (if you also paid for coaching, the guarantee is only valid until the end of the first coaching call or 90 days after purchase, whichever comes first). There is also a 1-year guarantee of improved results: you can get a full refund (whether or not you bought or used coaching) for 1 year after purchase if you follow and implement all the instructions as well as you reasonably can and your new/updated website doesn’t perform better than the version of your website you had before any of the changes (proven with a statistically relevant and reliably tracked A/B test that runs for at least two months).
Conversion Optimization Report — If implementing the changes in the report doesn’t result in a higher conversion rate than the site without the changes, your payment will be refunded doubled. (For example, if you pay $1 for the report, the refund sum is $2.) To qualify for the refund, implement at least 95% of the recommendations (including all tests and tracking systems that are recommended) as they are presented in the report. Track the results in an A/B test (“before changes website” vs. “website after 95+% changes implemented”). The test needs to be statistically relevant and reliably tracked (with at least 2,000 unique visitors and 100 conversions over at least two months on both versions). The test needs to be completed within 6 months of the report delivery. The changes need to be implemented up to the same or higher standards than the site otherwise (e.g., visual and technical quality). I hold the right to require a re-test with my tracking codes to avoid mistakes. A single client (you or your company) can only ever get one refund, even if we do multiple projects (to avoid someone finding a loophole that allows them to abuse the guarantee).
Canceling
You can cancel all monthly coaching plans whenever you want, unless the coaching agreement’s length is defined (e.g., 6-month coaching agreement). We’ll continue to the end of the current billing cycle, and previous payments are not refunded. If you’ve paid for more than a month at a time (e.g., a year of coaching), I’ll refund the unused portion (this doesn’t apply to coaching agreements whose length is defined, e.g., 6-month coaching agreement). In that case, the price of used coaching months will be calculated based on the used time (i.e., what it would’ve cost if you only paid for the months you used—not taking into account possible discounts) or done work (i.e., what it would’ve cost you if you only paid for the work we did—not taking into account possible discounts).
I reserve the right to end a coaching plan at any point, though I practically never exercise this right. We’ll continue to the end of the current billing cycle as normal (unless you’ve paid for more than three months at a time, in which case we’ll continue for up to three months or until the end of the current billing cycle, and I’ll then refund any unused portion of the payment). Previous payments are not refunded.
If you buy a product/service/coaching and pay it in more than one installment or monthly, you can’t cancel or delay the remaining payments in a payment plan or contract. The payments are not in any way tied to the completion or progress of the project, service, etc.
Service packages, coaching contracts, and projects cannot be canceled after starting. I may make exceptions, but by default it’s not an option. However, if something major changes, I reserve the right to cancel the project. In such case, I will refund the full payment or a part of if it that makes more sense under the circumstances. This has never happened so far, but I hold the right just in case something unexpected happens.
General requirements for coaching
There are certain industries I don’t want to help thrive (e.g., tobacco), so I won’t work with companies in those industries. I also don’t want to work with companies I don’t believe I can help (e.g., I can’t help you if you only speak German, unless you want to also pay for the translation—or if you ask me to do a conversion optimization report for a site I don’t believe I can improve significantly, I have to turn down the project and refund your payment). So, if you pay for a service before checking with me that I believe we’ll be a good match, I reserve the right to simply refund the payment and not work together in every situation. This protects us both from wasting time and energy.
Payments
All payment plans and continuous coaching agreements are, by default, set up with an automatic payment method. This typically means a “subscription,” which is either open ended (e.g., in coaching) or ends after a set number of payments (i.e., payment plans). This is easier for both of us because it means we don’t need to think about it every month separately.
Note: If you aren’t okay with automatic payments, ask beforehand if we can get around it somehow. It’s typically a significant additional hassle and frustration for me, so please understand that there will likely be a meaningful additional fee to cover that hassle and frustration of setting up and tracking individual payments.
Once you’ve signed up for automatic payments, I don’t refund payments just because you didn’t realize they’re automated. This, of course, doesn’t affect guarantee-related refunds.
Note: I don’t accept checks because they aren’t used in Finland.
Email support
You get email support as a part of some services I provide. The amount of email support depends on the agreement we have. If in doubt, ask me to clarify the limits for you.
Responsibility
I provide guidance and ideas. You are responsible for implementation. And you are responsible for the results. In other words, you can take the credit for good results, but you’re also entirely responsible for any negative results.
Laws
I’m Finnish, live in Finland, and my business is based in Finland. So, I follow Finnish laws, and in the unlikely event of legal disputes, they will be handled in Finnish court in Helsinki. There are lots of countries in the world, and they all have their own laws. I doubt anyone even claims to know them all. So, if it seems the country you live in has different laws, you might be right. And feel free to let me know if it seems relevant, but I act based on Finnish laws only.
Updates to products
You aren’t entitled to get updates to products unless otherwise stated. However, I make most updates directly into the products (i.e., I update the videos in the membership site), so you get the updates automatically.
Note that you can’t get any updates to any products if you unsubscribe from my email list.
Copyright
If you’d like to reprint/republish my free content or part of free content I’ve published, contact me first. I’m usually fine with it, but please ask for the permission first—I don’t like unauthorized republishing. Quoting a few sentences is just fine—no need to even ask (as stated in most copyright laws). Just remember to link to the original content or to my homepage if the original content isn’t available on my site. Thanks :-)
Needless to say (I hope) that sharing (or reselling) paid products without explicit written permission from me is illegal. I don’t mind if your spouse or business partner goes through a product with you. I don’t mind if you tell people about the concepts in a product. But don’t share even a part of a paid product with anyone (except in your family and company).
Affiliations
If I recommend a service or product, it’s because I’ve found it to be worth buying. Sometimes I use affiliate links, so I get a commission if you buy something. So, feel free to assume all links are affiliate links, even though that’s not the case.
If you don’t want me to get a small compensation for doing the research and recommending the best option, just use Google to find all available options, test them yourself, and make a decision based on that.
